Pasadena City College’s Web Producer and now adjunct faculty, teaching Design for the Internet. I oversee 5,000 - plus dynamically generated web pages and templates for Pasadena City College and when I have time still occasionally paint portraits. My favorite aspect of the PCC job is the Work-Based Learning Program at PCC that allows college students to transition into industry by first having a paid internship on campus. Trained as a fine artist in painting, then worked in banking for many years, and returned to design when the Internet explosion began. I became an expert on accessibility for education, when re-vamping the PCC website to meet California's Community College requirements for Section 508 compliance in 2001 and 2002. I had the great joy of learning from Sarah Horton of Dartmouth and then sharing my office with the Alternate Media Specialist, Donna Pomerantz, at PCC. Donna has low vision and used JAWS and Zoom Text all day. Both of these experiences cemented my passion for making accessible websites.
